Guideline Form 1

Purpose of Form:

To request a PID assignment.

This form is most commonly used when a parcel is being converted to the land registration system by either mandatory or voluntary conversion and is not graphically represented on the provincial mapping. This can occur as a result of the parcel not being mapped, the parcel being a portion of an existing mapped PID, a subdivision by deed, a defacto consolidation or a parcel being hooked across a public road, railway or navigable waterway. This process has to take place before a Parcel Description Certification Application can be submitted.

The form, together with the accompanying information, is used by the property mapper to graphically represent the parcel on the provincial mapping with reasonable accuracy in relation to neighbouring parcels. The mapper compares the parcel description provided with the sketch of the parcel to determine the parcel identification number and its approximate location. This form can be used for requesting PID assignment for multiple parcels as long as the supporting forms clearly match the description.

Please note that submitters must allow for a 5 business day turnaround on a request for PID assignment.
